Staging

Styling and staging are the key to making your home look its very best.

This is especially important when you are considering selling.

Realtors know this and often refer their clients to Colette for both design advisory sessions with their clients and the implementation of their projects.

Styling:

Styling makes the most of what you already have.

Colette will advise you and help you to:

    . Reposition furniture and accessories

. Get rid of the clutter

. Clean, paint walls, wash windows, polish floors

    . Add light

    . Hang new window treatments

    . Do minor repairs

Example:

This apartment on Fifth Avenue was styled using the client’s furniture and accessories. Old Venetian blinds were removed to expose the view, and furniture was repositioned to make the living room look more welcoming.

Proven Results:

After styling, this apartment received five offers and sold substantially above its asking price.

Staging:

In addition to styling your home with your own possessions, there are also times when you may need additional items to really “set the stage” for a sale. These can be:

. Add accessories - to complete the look you want

. Lighting – lamps, ceiling fixtures and accent lighting

. Plants – to soften and energize rooms

. Kitchen accessories for a welcoming and warm atmosphere

. Bathroom towels and accessories for an elegant look

To do this, Colette creates floor plans and shops with (or for) you for low-cost accessories as well as rentals that can be returned when no longer needed.

This cost and time-effective decorating method will get your home ready to be photographed in record time!

Example:

The “early dorm room” look of this studio was softened by renting a glass dining table, some chairs and an area rug.

The large window was accentuated by repositioning the client’s leather sofa in front of it and adding mini blinds and a draped valance made from inexpensive pashmina scarves!

Proven results:

. This studio had been on the market for over a year with no offers. After staging, it received three offers and sold for substantially more than the asking price.
